Hormone Replacement In The Elderly - Where Are We At?
Menopausal symptoms can be severe, disabling and long-lasting. Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT) is the most effective treatment for vasomotor symptoms of menopause. Following the unexpected findings of significant harm in the WHI trial in 2002, MHT prescribing rates around the world reduced dramatically. The WHI trial has been scrutinised in depth and modern interpretations are more nuanced. This talk will address where the science stands now regarding MHT in elderly women.
